Segment 4-5: Today my days consisted of “What. The. Fuck.” Over & over again. I woke up with my tramily, we were all soaked. Our tents, shoes, bags, luckily are sleeping bags were only damp. I decided to hike without them today, because I was cold & wet & needed to warm up. I honestly didn’t even plan on hiking since it rained all night & I thought to myself there would be no chance of me hiking if it continues to rain because then my sleeping bag will most definitely get wet. I took my chances.

I woke up to my first “wtf” by climbing up a hill that resembled the climbs I did in Washington. Cold, wet, & a straight shot up the mountain. But, it kept me warm!!

The trail always provides. I was greeted by breathtaking meadow/mountain views for 6+ miles. I cried so much from the view. I stopped often to ponder & massage myself & a couple of ladies walked by & we chit chatted. They asked if I needed anything. I notice it is really difficult for me to ask for help when I need it, but I knew I needed food because I didn’t take into account that I eat 2-3x as much during my moon & I only had one meal left. They were sooo beyond sweet & handed me a bunch of stuff. Truly, I don’t know what I would’ve done because I ate most of it by night time. 😂

I stopped around 2pm which is extremely early for me, however there was another hail/thunderstorm & everyone was making the decision to call it quits for the day. I still got 17.2 miles in & I ate an abnormal amount of maple syrup oatmeal!! 🤤
