Mahalo to my friends who helped me get through the experience with Pupa. I seriously feel as though I have the best friends in my hometown… and out of all places, Illinois. 😝 It just shows I’ll meet the right people, no matter where I’m at in the world.
Quinn and I had a cappuccino at our old workplace. We received hugs and words of love/affection from the employees and managers who passed us by. I thought back to when I prayed for a job where I could greet my managers with hugs and let them know how much I love them. What a blessing to watch it turn into a reality.
Quinn introduced me to a fellow traveler, also named Quinn (a male version of her). We walked through our local forest preserve, explored some log huts, ate some veggie sushi, talked about Spirit and the Universe.
I got to see my darling of a friend, Alex, who is one of my biggest inspirations and role models as a writer. We met up at Trader Joe’s and exchanged hugs and I thought to myself how it was so worth it to get off trail for a few days just to see the smile of a friend and to receive a hug from them. Wholesome gifts. 🙏🏻❤️
My mom made me homemade Lithuanian food the whole weekend to help replenish my body before I hit the trail again. We had a family movie night last night as we cuddle puddled in my parents bed. Near the end of the movie, my mom started crying because I was flying out the next day. My dad goes, “I got an email saying your flight got canceled.” 😂 They like to make it hard for me to leave… good thing I left my backpack at the hostel so I wouldn’t be tempted to stay too long. 😉
