I rode back to Chicago with Quinn for I had the intention of surprising my family for a moment. When I drove to pick my mom up from her rehearsal practice, I saw her walking out and felt a sense of gratitude come over me. To be able to receive the perception of my mother being apparently alive in this realm, able bodied and healthy reminded me to appreciate her in each moment, for everything was passing.
I ran out of the car to kiss her and told her I came back just to give her a hug. She told me she was going to tie me up with ropes to a post so I stop pulling this shit. 😂 When we made it home, my dad seasoned some cold ribs before putting them on the grill. I inhaled the scent and was brought back to the summer days I spent with them. My brother and I caught up and made plans for trick or treating.
I woke up the next morning and spent the day with my family and made a couple of macrame outfits. My little brother and I went bike riding in the trails behind our house. Afterwards, I packed all my things and was ready to cruise with my friend Scotty who was on his way to Texas. He offered me a ride back to New Mexico where I left off on trail. We drove for a couple of hours and slept at a rest stop on the damp grass. ❤️
